The first concert was held at the Komitas Chamber Music Hall after the major renovation of the Dutch “Flentrop” organ, the Ministry of Culture and Sports reported.

The project was funded by the Ministry of Culture and Sports and implemented in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Armenia.

The concert was held within the framework of the Second International Festival of Organ Music named after Vahagn Stamboltsyan. Dutch organist Jochem Schurman performed.

Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports Artur Martirosyan delivered a welcoming speech at the concert.

“State allocations to provide cultural institutions with quality instruments and create a proper environment are increasing year by year. This is another program in this series, the implementation of which is also important in terms of transferring the experience of foreign restoration specialists. The effective implementation of the program is also a good example on the path to establishing and developing a restoration school in various fields in Armenia. During the renovation, the festival was also held in the regions: Kapan, Charentsavan, and in the near future also in Gyumri, which is extremely important from the point of view of cultural decentralization,” said Artur Martirosyan and thanked the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Armenia for its support and cooperation.

The Vahagn Stamboltsyan International Organ Festival will continue until November 6.
