Organ Festival 2024

The second International Vahagn Stambultsyan Organ Festival was held from September to December of 2024.

The festival opened with a concert dedicated to  155th anniversary of Komitas. Within the framework of the festival concerts were held in Yerevan and in three regions of Armenia— at the Komitas Chamber Music Hall, Kapan State College of Art, in Charentsavan Music School after  Aram Khachatryan and Surb Nshan Church in Gyumri.

Organists from abroad like as Jochem Schuurman (Netherlands), Eugenio Fagiani (Italy), Peter Kleinert (Germany), Narine Simonyan (France), Salvatore Pronestì (Italy), and Konstantin Volostnov (Germany) took part in the festival.

The Armenian organ school were represented by Anna Bakunts, Tereza Voskanyan, Armen Aghajanyan, Lusine Sarajyan, Harutyun Taghvoryan, Karine Hovhannisyan, Lusine Harutyunyan, Vahagn Margaryan, Arpine Harutyunyan, and young organist David Hovhannisyan. Singers and musicians Marie Muller (soprano, France), Olga Vardanyan (piano, Ukraine), Heghine Ohanyan (soprano), Tereza Nacharyan (violin), and Narek Avagyan (flute) also graced the festival with their performances.

During the festival masterclasses were held with the participation of invited organists Joeham Schürmann (Netherlands) and Eugenio Fasgiani (Italy).

The second International Organ Festival concluded with a concert dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Avet Terteryan, featuring a performance of Terteryan's Symphony No. 1 for organ, brass, percussion, piano, and bass guitar.

The festival was held with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia.
