The Second International Festival of Organ Music named after Vahagn Stamboltsyan is launching

The 2nd International Vahagn Stamboltsyan Organ Music Festival will be held in Yerevan from September to December. Organists Joshem Schurman (Netherlands), Eugenio Maria Fagani (Italy), Peter Kleinert (Germany), Narine Simonyan (France), Salvatore Pronesti (Italy/Germany) will take part in it.

As reported by Armenpress, the Armenian organ school will be represented by Anna Bakunts, Karine Hovhannisyan, Harutyun Tagvoryan, Teresa Oskanyan, Hovhannes Manukyan, Armen Aghajanyan, David Hovhannisyan, Lusine Sarajyan, Lusine Harutyunyan, Vahagn Margaryan, Marina Nahapetyan, Arpine Harutyunyan and others.

Festival concerts will be held in Yerevan, Kapan, Charentsavan and Gyumri. There will also be concerts dedicated to Komitas and Avet Terteryan. Both classical organ arrangements of pearls of Armenian music and organ works by Armenian composers will be performed.

As part of the festival, master classes will be held by organists from abroad.

The festival will open on September 25 at 19:00 in the Komitas Chamber Music House. The concert is dedicated to the 155th anniversary of Komitas.

The first International Vahagn Stamboltsyan Organ Music Festival was held in 2022. It featured Fabio Machera (Italy), Lada Labzina (Russia), Konstantin Volostnov (Russia), Jean-Pierre Stavers (Netherlands), Evgeny Avramenko (Russia).

The festival is held on the initiative of the National Chamber Music Center and with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.
