Solo Recital by the Titular Organist of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, in Yerevan
On October 1, as part of the third International Vahagn Stamboltsyan Organ Festival, Vincent Dubois, titular organist of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, gave a solo recital in Armenia for the first time.
Vincent Dubois is regarded one of the most celebrated organists on the international stage — he maintains an active concert career, has received prestigious awards, and has performed at the world's leading festivals.
The program of the Yerevan recital was dedicated to the works of Johann Sebastian Bach: pieces by Bach and Franz Liszt were performed, along with Vincent Dubois's own improvisation on the theme B.A.C.H. At the close of the concert, the musician surprised the audience by performing the "Sabre Dance" from Aram Khachaturian's ballet Gayane.
The concert was held with the support of the Embassy of France in Armenia and the French Institute of Armenia.
