The concert opened with welcoming remarks from Armen Sukiasyan, Deputy Artistic Director of the National Center of Chamber Music and founder and artistic director of the festival, and Svetlana Sahakyan, Head of the Department of Contemporary Art and Book Publishing at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of RA.

In his remarks, Armen Sukiasyan thanked the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of RA and partner organizations for embracing the festival's concept and supporting its realization. He emphasized that the Vahagn Stambultsyan International Organ Music Festival has brought new life to organ art in Armenia. Over the years, a devoted audience has been formed, with a particularly large number of young people among them, which he found tremendously encouraging. Sukiasyan also considered it a significant achievement that the festival already occupies its own distinct place on the global festival map: renowned organists from various countries send letters expressing their wish to take part.

 In concluding his speech, he addressed the composers present in the hall, emphasising that the organists are awaiting new compositions. Svetlana Sahakyan, congratulating the organizers, participants, and audience, noted that over these three years the festival has made significant progress in several directions. According to her, thanks to the festival, Vahagn Stamboltsyan's organ school is not only being revived but continuing to develop — expanding its geographic reach not only within Armenia, by bringing the festival to the regions, but also by inviting internationally renowned organists to Armenia. This year, the festival is welcoming participants from countries with such rich organ school traditions as France, Spain, Great Britain, and the Netherlands, which, in Sahakyan's words, is a great honor. She expressed confidence that such collaborations offer an important opportunity for exchanging experience and refining professional knowledge, for the benefit of young Armenian organists and those carrying forward the school's traditions.

At the festival's opening concert, Armenian organists and guest musicians performed works by Komitas, Nerses Shnorhali, Makar Yekmalyan, Alexander Harutyunyan, Arno Babajanyan, and other eminent composers. The program presented the diverse shades of Armenian sacred and national musical heritage, through a beautiful combination of the organ with other instruments — cello, blul and trumpet.

During the evening, alongside the musical performances, the works of Vazgen Brutyan — director of the Ardean Art Center, architect, designer, and painter — were exhibited, lending the concert a distinctive spirit and atmosphere.

The third International Vahagn Stamboltsyan Organ Festival will be held this year from September to December, in Yerevan, Kapan, and Charentsavan. Vincent Dubois, titular organist of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris; Jonathan Scott, a leading British organist; Juan de la Rubia, principal organist of the Sagrada Família Basilica in Barcelona; and Adriaan Hoek, city organist of Rotterdam will arrive to Armenia.

The next concert of the festival will take place on October 1, a solo recital will be performed by Vincent Dubois, titular organist of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.
